Bad times... Lay Off Your IT Geeks! Should you?

Here's an executives discussion with the head of HR... "Let's reduce our staff... Everything seems to be going OK in IT but every time I go in their office, it seems that they are just hanging out waiting for something to happen." The truth is, they are! That's what they do! And they are damn good at it! or should I say they are damn good at I.T.!

You might wanna think twice about letting your IT people go... or... you could have a contigency plan by separating the responsibility of internal staff and a outside organization (sounds familiar... inside/outside controls like in accounting maybe). Consider this... who knows how to 'get in to' your accounting systems? Who knows how to 'get in to' you customer records? Who has 'get in to' your employee records? Who can 'get in to' every desktop in your organization? Your IT staff! Now exchange the words "get in to with 'destroy' or 'spy on'
