MESH NETWORKS - Great Presentation!

CAP5 Sponsored Don Kelley's Mesh Networks presentation at the NSTA Luncheon today (11/15/07) and it was a great success! Companies from across Houston came for the presentation that included a demonstration of Free Space Optics. Mesh Networks demonstrated how optics are used for high speed data transfer (100MBps and higher) from point-to-point. The demonstration included how even with a block in line-of-site for brief periods of time, bits and bytes and buffered and the signal is restored from the point where it was stopped. The practical application of free space optics is that it can be used as a primary high speed data source in dispese areas, but most assuredly it can be used as a redundant and diverse path link when primary traffic is at risk.

CAP5 will be meeting with Mesh Networks in the future to establish a working partnership. Please look for great things to come!
